The Pagoda Shelf was made in a series of shelves in an effort to explore shelves as shrines for objects. Shelves are for displaying, so we tried to distill this idea and create a formal language that reinforces this idea. The elevated planes and sequentially diminishing proportions have an almost religious connotation. The alter in a church, Mayan temples, and or course the roofs of a pagoda. We universally understand this formal language of elevation and when applied to shelving it creates a shrine like display for the objects in your home.
